Mr. Thorvaldur Ludvik Sigurjonsson, CEO
Mr. Sigurjonsson graduated with BA Hons in International Business and Languages from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh in 1995. That same year he joined Icelandic Group in England and worked there
until he joined Kaupthing North in 1996. He then moved over to Kaupthing Bank Reykjavik where he created the bank's Proprietary Trading Department in 1999. He headed the bank's Proprietary Trading
unit until 2006 when he cofounded Saga Capital Investment Bank. Mr. Sigurjonsson holds a Diploma in Securities Transactions.
Mr. Geir Gislason, Managing Director, Debt Finance
Mr. Gislason graduated with Cand.oecon degree in Business Administration from the University of Iceland in 2000. From 2000 he worked at Kaupthing Bank Reykjavik in Proprietary Trading and
Asset Management before becoming Assistant Bank Manager for Kaupthing Bank Akureyri in 2003. Mr. Gislason took over as Managing Director for Saga Capital's Debt Finance on 1 January 2007. Mr.
Sigurjonsson holds a Diploma in Securities Transactions.
Mrs. Helga Hlin Hakonardottir, Managing Director, Legal Department
Mrs. Hakonardottir graduated as a lawyer from the University of Iceland in 1997 and worked for the Iceland Stock Exchange (now OMX Nordic Exchange) from 1996. In 1998 she joined the Icelandic
Investment Bank hf. (FBA), which merged with Islandsbanki hf. in 2000 and in 2006 she worked at Straumur-Burdaras Investment bank hf. Mrs. Hakonardottir took over as Managing Director of Saga
Capital's Legal Department in early January 2007. She has lectured law and capital markets since 1998 at Reykjavik University and the University of Iceland and has been appointed by the Minister of
Commerce as a member of numerous committees established to review different laws and regulations on securities trading and capital markets. Mrs. Hakonardottir has passed her district court bar exam
and holds a Diploma in Securities Transactions.
Dr. Hersir Sigurgeirsson, Managing Director, Risk Management
Dr. Sigurgeirsson completed his master's degree in financial mathematics in 1999 and a doctorate in applied mathematics in 2001, both from Stanford University. Dr. Sigurgeirsson worked on data mining
at deCODE genetics from 2001 to 2002 and on risk management at Kaupthing Bank between 2003 and 2004 before turning to proprietary trading at the same bank between 2004 and 2006. Dr. Sigurgeirsson is
also assistant professor at the University of Iceland's Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Dr. Sigurgeirsson holds a Diploma in Securities Transactions.
Mr Jon Ottar Birgisson, Managing Director, Corporate Finance
Mr. Birgisson graduated with a BS degree in Economics from University of Iceland in 1998. From 1998 he worked for Icelandic
Securities as a stock broker. From 2000 to 2008 Mr Birgisson worked for the mobile accessories company Strax. He started off as an Operations Director and then later as the Managing Director of their
Hong Kong operation, based in Hong Kong. In 2003 he joined Strax´ UK operation, first in the capacity of Commercial Director and then later as the Managing Director. From 2007 he worked as the
Managing Director of Strax Innovation, located in the UK. Mr. Birgisson came to Saga Capital in 2008 as a Managing Director of Business Development and took over as Managing Director of Corporate
Finance in 2009.
Mr. Omar Sigtryggsson, Managing Director, Capital Markets
Mr. Sigtryggsson graduated with a BA degree in Finance and International Business from the George Washington University in 1998. Between 1998 and 2002 he worked
for Eimskip as Manager of Treasury & Risk Management as well as being the CEO of Sundabakki hf. Mr. Sigtryggsson was also fund manager for the Eimskip's Pension Fund during his term at Eimskip.
At the end of 2002 Omar moved to MP Investment Bank where he became the Director of Corporate Finance, managing bond issues for companies, municipalities and financial enterprises as well as
providing general M&A consultation. On 1 May 2007 he took over the post of Managing Director of Saga Capital's Capital Markets. Mr. Sigtryggsson holds
a Diploma in Securities Transactions
Mr. Runar Fridriksson, Managing Director, Proprietary Trading
Mr. Fridriksson graduated as a business administrator from the Bifrost University in 2004. He worked at Kaupthing Bank's Proprietary Trading between 2004 and 2006 and on 1 January 2007 took over as
Managing Director of Saga Capital's Proprietary Trading. Mr. Fridriksson holds a Diploma in Securities Transactions.
Mr. Tryggvi Tryggvason, Managing Director, Treasury
Mr. Tryggvason graduated with Cand Oecon degree in Finance from the University of Iceland
in 1995 and completed his master‘s degree in Finance from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow a year later. Mr. Tryggvason worked as a Fund Manager in Asset Management in Islandsbanki from
1996-1997 when he took the position of Managing Director of Kaupthing Nordurlands Securities. In 1999 he started working for Landsbanki Islands hf. as a Deputy Managing Director of International
Banking. In 2003 he moved to Luxembourg to work as a Managing Director of Landsbanki Luxembourg S.A. and returned a year later to his position as a Deputy Managing Director of International Banking
where he worked until 2008. From then on he worked as a Special Advisor for the Resolution Committee of Landsbankinn and as a Managing Director of Landsvaki until he took over as a Managing Director
for Saga Capital‘s Treasury in June 2009. Mr. Tryggvason holds a Diploma in Securities Transactions.
